The DO I.T. project, aimed at young people between the ages of 15 and 34, has the general objective of:
• developing / strengthen their digital skills and facilitate the critical media literacy process in order to make young people active and aware citizens (specific priority)
• increase the overall empowerment of young people and their possibility of active social and work inclusion (specific priority)
The "digital natives" apparently show greater familiarity with these technologies but this does not mean that they know how to use them correctly. Their propensity does not presuppose that they are "digital scholars" or "digital conscious": that is, they do not have an analogical baggage to use as a benchmark and, on the other hand, they have never been formally socialized to the "rules of the game". What is missing, therefore, is the awareness of the use of digital, which exposes kids to multiple risks: from cyberbullying that feeds on the absence of empathy of social relations, to the loss of contextual and emotional elements caused by storing the information in a synthetic and apathetic manner in electronic devices, no longer relying on cognitive memory.
